What to post when you have nothing new to announce

Most of a working content calendar is not announcements. It is everything else, which is exactly what to lean on during a quiet stretch.

Announcements were never meant to be most of the calendar

A calendar built entirely around new announcements runs dry the moment there is nothing new to say. The content pillars that sustain a consistent presence (tips, behind-the-scenes, customer moments, opinions) do not depend on having news to share.

Look backward before assuming there is nothing to post

A past post that performed well, a customer question answered once in private, or a piece of long-form content never fully repurposed are all real content sitting unused. A quiet week is often a good time to work through this backlog rather than starting from a blank page.

A short list to pull from on a genuinely quiet week

When nothing new is happening, these still work:

  • A genuine opinion or observation related to your field
  • A behind-the-scenes look at ongoing, unfinished work
  • A question aimed directly at your audience
  • A resurfaced post from months ago, reframed with a fresh intro

Run every channel from one calendar.

Every channel you have, included. Adding another does not change the price.
