How to plan a content batch day

A batch day works best organized around similar tasks grouped together, all filming and then all editing, rather than finishing one piece before starting the next.

Group similar tasks together, not by finished piece

Filming, editing, and writing captions for one piece of content start to finish before moving to the next loses time to constant context-switching. Batch by task instead: all filming first, then all editing, then all captions. The switching cost drops sharply.

Plan the content list before the batch day starts

A batch day spent partly deciding what to make wastes the day's limited focused time on a decision that could have been made in advance. Arriving with a specific list of what needs to be produced, decided beforehand, makes the actual batch day meaningfully more productive.

Set a realistic, sustainable volume target

An overly ambitious volume target for a single batch day tends to produce rushed, lower-quality output by the end of the session. A realistic target, sustainable to repeat regularly, tends to produce more usable content over time than an occasional, exhausting marathon session.
