Obvious engagement bait
Tactics built to farm reactions ("comment YES if you agree," asking people to tag someone for no real reason) are exactly the pattern a system optimized for genuine engagement is designed to detect and discount, not reward.
Leading with an outbound link
A post whose entire point is sending someone off-platform tends to get less distribution than the same content posted natively, with the link moved to a comment or a follow-up post. This is a real tradeoff worth making deliberately, not an oversight to fix after noticing weak reach.
Posting only from the company page
Since personal profiles tend to reach further than company pages, a business relying entirely on the page for its LinkedIn presence is leaving real reach unused. A page still matters as a destination, but it should not be the only source of a business's posts.
Generic advice with no real specificity
Broad, widely available advice competes against a huge amount of similar content and rarely holds attention. A specific lesson from real, first-hand experience tends to earn far more genuine engagement than generic business wisdom anyone could have written.
