Can I navigate away while a video is uploading?

Yes. The upload keeps going in the background, with a persistent progress indicator visible from any screen, not just the composer you started it on.

1. The upload isn't tied to the composer you started it on

Leave the composer, open the calendar, check the inbox. The upload keeps running in the background regardless of what's on screen.

2. A progress indicator that follows you

A persistent indicator in the sidebar shows the real upload percentage, live, on every screen in the product.

3. A real failure still tells you, wherever you are

If the connection drops mid-upload, the same indicator shows it failed, with a reason. You don't have to go back to the composer to find out.

4. That failure notice only lasts about five seconds

Once it clears, there's no second place it's recorded, in the composer or anywhere else. Missing the window looks the same as the upload never having started. If a file you dropped isn't there when you check, that's what happened.
