A pillar centered on specific opinions about your field earns more conversation than one built only around announcements. An announcement can still be one pillar among several. It just should not be the only kind of post an account makes.
A workable starting set
A reasonable mix for most accounts:
- A specific, genuine take on something happening in your industry
- A short thread breaking down one idea or lesson in a few posts
- A direct question to your actual audience
- A real update or announcement, kept to a minority of the mix

Since a reply is a much stronger signal than a like on X, track which pillar consistently earns real conversation, not just likes, and lean into that one more over time. A pillar that gets plenty of likes but almost no replies is weaker than it looks.
