Bluesky analytics: what the numbers actually mean

Genuine replies and reposts say more about a post's real performance than likes alone, especially on the algorithmically ranked Discover feed.

Likes are the easiest signal to earn, and the weakest

A like takes almost no effort, which is exactly why it says less about real impact than a reply or a repost does. A post with modest likes but genuine replies underneath is doing more for an account than the raw numbers alone suggest.

Reposts extend reach beyond your own followers

A repost puts a post in front of an entirely different audience than the one that originally saw it, similar to a share on other platforms. Tracking reposts specifically gives a clearer read on how far a post genuinely traveled than reach numbers alone.

Check whether a post is getting pulled into custom feeds

Since a meaningful share of discovery happens through topic-specific custom feeds, watch for posts that travel further than your follower count would predict. That is a sign they are getting picked up by a relevant feed.
