Plan the format mix deliberately
Since video, and Reels in particular, is weighted heavily in the current feed, a calendar that leans entirely on static photo posts leaves real reach on the table. Deciding ahead of time roughly how often each format shows up (a Reel, a photo update, a link, a text post) keeps the mix intentional instead of defaulting to whatever is fastest to produce that day.
Build in content genuinely worth sharing privately
Because a private share carries unusual weight in the ranking, plan at least some content people would want to send to a specific friend: a useful tip, something funny, a strong recommendation. Not everything should be built to be liked in public.
Batch the planning a few weeks out
Setting the topic and format for the next few weeks in one sitting removes the daily "what do I post" decision without requiring every asset to be finished that far ahead. Leave room to swap in something timely closer to the date.
