Since a single post has a real character limit, a longer piece of source content usually needs a genuine edit down to its single clearest point, not just a truncation. If the full idea does not fit, breaking it into a short chain of posts preserves more of the original thinking than cutting it down until it barely fits one.
Frame it for a specific topic feed
Before repurposing something, check whether a relevant custom feed already exists for its topic. Framing the post, and even its wording, around what that feed's audience cares about helps it get discovered there.
Keep the reply door open
Repurposed content still benefits from a question or an invitation to respond at the end, the same as an original post would. A repost that restates something from elsewhere, with no added hook for a reply, underperforms an original post on the same topic.
