Facebook for small business: a getting-started checklist

A complete Page and a realistic format mix, set up before posting regularly, matter more early on than a specific posting frequency.

Complete the Page before posting regularly

A Page with an incomplete profile (no hours, no clear description, no contact option) undercuts every post pointing back to it. Filling these in is a one-time task worth doing before you invest time in a content calendar.

Plan for video from the start

Since video, and Reels specifically, carries real weight in the current feed, a Page that plans to post only static photos and text from day one is starting at a disadvantage. It does not need to be elaborate. A short phone-shot clip is a reasonable starting point.

A short starting checklist

Before posting regularly, get these in place:

  • A complete Page profile: hours, description, and a working contact option
  • A rough plan for including at least some video or Reels in the mix, not photos only
  • A realistic weekly posting rhythm you can sustain

Run every channel from one calendar.

Every channel you have, included. Adding another does not change the price.
