How to schedule TikTok videos

TikTok’s own Post Scheduler works on desktop, from 15 minutes to 10 days ahead, by its own account. How it works, the sizes to use, and when a scheduler helps.

The short answer

TikTok has its own Post Scheduler. TikTok’s Creator Academy says it schedules organic posts “from 15 minutes up to 10 days in advance”, that it is “a desktop-only feature right now”, and that you reach it from the upload page on desktop or through Business Suite, where scheduled posts show in a calendar view. A scheduled post is visible on both the web and the app once set.

A third-party scheduler publishes through TikTok’s Content Posting API instead, and is worth it when you post to several platforms and want one calendar for all of them. YouTube, X, LinkedIn (personal profile), Pinterest, Bluesky, and WordPress publishing are live today; Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Threads are pending each platform's own API approval.

The two ways, side by side

From TikTok’s own pages, read in October 2026:

What else TikTok’s desktop tools do

The same Creator Academy guide lists the other desktop tools that sit beside the scheduler:

  • Changes after upload: once a video is uploaded, you can still adjust its scheduling and post settings.
  • Longer videos: TikTok says you can now upload videos up to 60 minutes long via desktop, for more structured storytelling.
  • Comments and messages: a desktop Comments and Messaging tab, reached from the Messages icon at the top right, keeps replies in one place.

Before you schedule: the sizes TikTok takes

A scheduled video publishes exactly as you made it, so check it against TikTok’s published limits first:

TikTok video and caption limits, from TikTok for Developers, as set out in this blog’s TikTok specs post
WhatLimit
Video fileMP4, MOV or WebM
Frame rate23 to 60 fps
Video file sizeUp to 4 GB
CaptionUp to 2,200 characters (UTF-16)

When a scheduler is worth it

TikTok’s scheduler sees only TikTok, and only on desktop. If you post the same video to Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and other platforms, a scheduler puts all of them on one calendar, sends each at its own best time, and gathers the comments in one inbox. Upload vertical video at 1080 × 1920 (9:16), which fills the screen on each of them.
