Facebook content pillars: what to actually post about

A pillar built around video tends to carry more weight on Facebook than the same idea posted as a static photo, worth factoring into the mix from the start.

A workable starting set

A reasonable mix for most small businesses:

  • A short video or Reel showing the work or product in progress
  • A genuine customer moment: a result, a review, a real use case
  • A useful tip related to your field, not just about your own product
  • A community or team moment that puts a real person behind the Page

Weight the mix toward video where it makes sense

Since video and Reels carry real weight in the current feed, at least one or two of an account's pillars are worth planning as video-first rather than defaulting every pillar to a static photo update. The pillar itself does not need to change, only the format it ships in.

Design at least one pillar for private sharing

Given how much weight a private share carries, it is worth having at least one pillar built around content genuinely worth sending to a friend. Not everything needs to chase this. One deliberate pillar aimed at it is a lever most Pages leave unused.
