The short answer
Pinterest Analytics is the reporting built into a Pinterest business account. It shows how your Pins and boards perform: how often they were seen, saved and clicked, how many people went on to your website, and for video, how long people watched.
Pinterest’s Help Center says it “helps you understand your overall presence on Pinterest” and shows “what paid and organic resonates most.” You need a business account to see it, and it may only be available to account owners.
The metrics, defined
Pinterest defines each metric precisely. The ones that matter most for organic Pins:
| Metric | What Pinterest counts |
|---|---|
| Impressions | Times your Pins or ads were on screen |
| Saves | Times people saved your Pin to a board |
| Pin clicks | Clicks that open your Pin in close-up |
| Outbound clicks | Actions that lead people to a destination off Pinterest, counted from the date the link is added |
| Engagements | Saves, Pin clicks, outbound clicks, carousel card swipes and collections clicks |
| Engagement rate | Engagements divided by impressions |
| Video views | Views of at least 2 seconds with half the video in view |
| Played to 95% | Times your video was watched to 95% of its length |
Filters worth using
The Overview page starts with the last 30 days. Filters change what you are looking at:
| Filter | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Date range | Custom ranges over the past year and a half, plus real-time estimates for the last 48 hours |
| Content type | Organic, paid and earned, or both, side by side |
| Pin format | Image or video Pins, for organic content |
| Claimed accounts | What people save from your claimed website or accounts |
| Source | Your own Pins, or Pins others made from your claimed website |
| Device, age, gender | Who is seeing and engaging, and on what |
Reading it well
A few habits from the way Pinterest defines its numbers:
- Look at saves as well as clicks: a save puts your Pin on someone’s board, where it keeps being seen.
- Use outbound clicks to judge traffic, and remember they only count from the date a link was added.
- Treat real-time numbers as estimates; Pinterest says they are subject to change and might decrease.
- Sort top Pins by saves or outbound clicks, not only impressions, to see what is working for your goal.
- Export a filtered view as CSV to compare over time.
- Pair it with Pinterest Trends: Analytics shows how your own Pins do, while Trends shows what everyone on Pinterest searches and saves, up to two years back.
Pinterest Analytics and PostEase
For Pins published through PostEase, Performance shows impressions and comments as Pinterest reports them, beside the numbers from every other platform, so you can compare a Pin with the rest of the week. Saves, clicks and audience detail stay in Pinterest Analytics. YouTube, X, LinkedIn (personal profile), Pinterest, Bluesky, and WordPress publishing are live today; Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Threads are pending each platform's own API approval.
